Homo Faber NextGen（ホモ・ファーベル・ネクストジェン）は、スイス・ジュネーヴに拠点を置くミケランジェロ財団が運営する、次世代のクラフトマンを育成する国際教育プログラムです。
現在活躍するマスター職人と、未来を担う若手作家（Next Generation）をつなぎ、技術・知識・文化としてのクラフトの継承と進化を目的としています。
本プログラムは主に以下の2つの枠組みで構成されています。
■ Homo Faber Fellowship（フェローシップ）
Homo Faber Fellowship は、マスター職人と若手作家のデュオを対象とした、8か月間の国際的クラフト研修プログラムです。
制作技術のみならず、デザイン、思考、プロフェッショナルとしての姿勢までを含めた実践的な育成を目的としています。
【第4期（2026–2027年）開催概要】
・期間：2026年9月 〜 2027年4月（8か月間）
・対象：ヨーロッパに拠点を持つマスター職人（指定国）
・フェロー（若手作家）：ヨーロッパ在住者・海外在住者ともに応募可能
・形式：マスター職人と若手作家によるデュオ制
・内容：国際的な工芸研修・共同制作・交流プログラム（奨学支援つき）
伝統技術を次世代へと実践的に継承すると同時に、国境を越えたクラフトの未来を育てることを目的としたプログラムです。
■ Young Ambassadors Programme（ヤング・アンバサダーズ）
工芸・デザイン・クリエイティブ分野を学ぶ学生や若手卒業生を対象に、Homo Faberの国際展示やイベント（ビエンナーレ等）への参加を通じて、世界の工芸文化を体験し、国際的なネットワークを築く育成プログラムです。

「技の継承 × 国際交流 × 次世代育成」を柱に、クラフトの文化的・社会的・経済的価値を次の時代へとつないでいくことを目指しています。

Homo Faber NextGen — An International Educational Programme for the Next Generation of Artisans
Homo Faber NextGen is an international educational initiative created by the Michelangelo Foundation to nurture the next generation of master artisans. The programme connects today’s master craftsmen with emerging talents in order to preserve, transmit, and evolve traditional craft knowledge and skills.
The programme consists mainly of two core tracks:
■ Homo Faber Fellowship
The Homo Faber Fellowship is a yearly, eight-month international sponsored craft training programme designed for duos of master artisans and emerging talents.
It offers hands-on professional training that bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary thinking and practice.
4th Edition (2026/27) Overview
- Duration: September 2026 – April 2027 (8 months)
- Eligibility (Master Artisans): Based in a selection of countries located in Europe
- Eligibility (Fellows): Applicants based in Europe and overseas are welcome
- Format: Duo-based (one master artisan + one emerging talent)
- Content: International craft training, collaborative production, and cultural exchange with sponsorship
This programme plays a central role in ensuring the continuity and evolution of craftsmanship across generations and borders.
■ Young Ambassadors Programme
The Young Ambassadors Programme is aimed at students and recent graduates in craft, design, and creative disciplines. Participants engage in international craft events (such as Homo Faber exhibitions and biennials), meet artisans from around the world, and build a global perspective on contemporary craftsmanship.
Through Homo Faber NextGen, the Michelangelo Foundation promotes
heritage transmission, international exchange, and next-generation education, reinforcing the cultural, social, and economic value of craftsmanship worldwide.
