2025年秋、北陸三県（福井・石川・富山）を舞台に、「GO FOR KOGEI 2025」が開催されます。
3回目となる今回は、柳宗悦が1931年に記した概念「工芸的なるもの（The Craft-like）」を手がかりに、現代における工芸と社会の関係を見つめ直す試みです。
In the fall of 2025, GO FOR KOGEI returns to the Hokuriku region of Japan—spanning Fukui, Ishikawa, and Toyama prefectures.
The third edition of this landmark exhibition explores the concept of “The Craft-like”, first introduced by philosopher Soetsu Yanagi in 1931, as a lens to reexamine the role of KOGEI (craft) in today’s society.

Theme: “The Craft-like”
「工芸的なるもの」とは、物そのものだけでなく、作り手の“態度”に宿る美意識。
柳宗悦は、理髪師の鋏さばきや車内アナウンスの抑揚にも“工芸性”を見出しました。
それは、個人の自由な表現というよりも、社会に共有される様式や美のかたち。
In his essay “The Craft-like” (Kōgei-teki naru mono, 1931), Yanagi saw craft not only in objects, but also in human gestures—like a barber’s scissor work or the tone of a train conductor’s voice.
For Yanagi, the essence of craft lies less in individual expression and more in shared aesthetics and communal sensibility.
しかし現代は、かつての「共有された様式」が失われつつある時代。
モダニズム以降の“分断”と“孤立”の時代において、果たして「工芸的なるもの」はどのように存在し得るのか。
Yet in today’s world, where shared forms and values are increasingly eroded, what might the craft-like mean now?
As modernism fades, GO FOR KOGEI 2025 revisits this question—placing emphasis on the relational, social, and lived aspects of craft.
